Anti Ageing Skin Science

SAViQ is a synergistic fusion of Apitherapy (the science of bee products) and active New Zealand plant extracts, designed explicitly to support anti-ageing.

The Three Staple Ingredients in SAViQ:

Bee Venom is a fantastic ingredient. You might have heard it referred to it as nature's exciting alternative to Botox®

It’s highly effective in skincare because it triggers your skin to release Collagen and Elastin. It has this instantly visible lifting and firming effect that can be seen and felt. The results are really quite exceptional.

Bee Venom consists of more than 18 natural substances which cannot be chemically reproduced. The most abundant active component is Melittin, which has many useful properties in skincare including anti-inflammatory and healing capabilities.

Quick Facts
  • Bee Venom is THE most natural agent you can choose to trigger Collagen and Elastin. Muscles respond by tightening and lifting.
  • Each SAViQ product has a variable level of Active Bee Venom (BVA) according to its functional purpose.
  • Venom collection DOES NOT harm the bees. They are merely stimulated to sting a glass pane. They then carry on about their business – unharmed.
  • Purified Bee Venom becomes non-allergenic when combined with Manuka Honey.
  • The VENZTM bee venom in SAViQ is a sought after patented ingredient. Read more about the VENZ story.

New Zealand Manuka Honey is hailed as nature's wonderfood with unique antibacterial activity. It is anti-inflammatory and proven to soothe and heal.

As a staple in the SAViQ base blend, Manuka Honey naturally supports youthful elasticity by inhibiting the enzymes that break-down Collagen.

It also has a really interesting effect on bee venom. It negates the allergic potential of the venom!

Manuka Honey is sourced from New Zealand's remote, pollution free forests and is renowned for its unique flavour and health benefits.  The bees feed off the Manuka plant (Leptospermum scoparium) which has delicate pink or white flowers and is native to New Zealand. While we have been aware for centuries of the antibacterial properties of all types of honey, laboratory studies have shown that New Zealand Manuka Honey has an especially remarkable antibacterial property.

This antibacterial activity is particularly useful in skincare to support healing and to soothe and calm skin.

The use of honey as a medicine is well documented to go back thousands of years.

Quick Facts
  • The ancient Egyptian beekeepers used honey nearly 4,000 years ago to sweeten their food. It was highly valued because of its therapeutic qualities. It was consumed to support conception and to promote fertility. Its natural preservative nature was an essential in the mummification process.
  • New Zealand Manuka Honey is used in many applications including wound dressing. For example: A team of researchers at the Tzanio General Hospital in Greece have just published new research that shows a significant reduction in the time taken to heal diabetic foot ulcers when compared with conventional dressings.

SAViQ is based on a belief that nature is an exceptional healer.

New Zealand plant-life has long been revered for its efficacy in health and wellness. We simply bring together the best of Natural New Zealand active ingredients in a range of functional skincare products developed for anti-ageing.

Quick Facts
  • New Zealand plant extracts are unique. This is because New Zealand has been separate from other land masses for 70 million years. During this time a unique plant and forest life was able to develop without intervention.
  • The Maori people (indigenous people of New Zealand) used the healing power of New Zealand plants for many years before the white man set foot on our shores. For example, Historically Maori people used the Mamaku Fern as a poultice for minor skin irritations and afflictions.
  • By the time Captain Cook set foot on New Zealand soil, (the beginning of European settlement) there were already 10,000 taxi boats (gondolas) in Venice. New Zealand is young!

The long known healing properties of Aloe Vera have seen it spread throughout the world. The gel in the leaves stimulates cell regeneration providing health benefits that have been used for medicinal purposes for more than 3500 years. A vast amount of research has been done on Aloe Vera which has proven to be very effective in the treatment of various dry skin disorders such as eczema. It is often used in cosmetics for its moisturizing, anti-inflammation and antifungal properties.

Coenzyme Q10 (Co Q10) is a relative newcomer to the skin care industry. Yet, its value for general health and nutrition is rather well known and well researched. CoQ10 has at least two important roles in the body. First, it is one of the essential cogs in the biochemical machinery that produces biological energy (ATP) inside the cells. Second, CoQ10 is an antioxidant. It helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which are one of the causes of ageing.

Myoxinal is a patented complex of oligopeptides (obtained from proteins from the seeds of Hibiscus). It works to mechanically smooth expression lines and has antioxidant, hydration and exfoliating benefits.

Chamomile Function Soothing

Long known for its soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory benefits, chamomile is the perfect ingredient for use in topical skin care. Along with its known anti-inflammatory benefits, chamomile is also thought to have anti-oxidant and antibacterial benefits. Chamomile has been used internally for calming anxiety and treating insomnia for hundreds of years. Most everyone who has struggled with sleeplessness has had someone suggest to them to drink chamomile tea at night... simply because it truly works. When used topically in skin care it is typically found in soothing and calming types of skin care products, particularly emollient preparations which additionally target inflammation
